Nigel van der Pol
NVDP is a non-binary graphic designer who uses the complexity of our contemporary crises as a guideline to create new narratives — making use of popculture as well as internet, meme-, sub- and countercultural references to create an abrasive visual language. They try to reappropriate the consumerist and political propaganda languages and use them in autonomous projects to disrupt the preconceived notions around existing power structures. In their work they combine theory, politics and philosophy with a poetic sentiment to create a senseof meaningful necessity. Their body of work is an outspoken visual phenomenon: a stream of consciousness that allows for a more artistic, provoking, abstract andemotional interaction that sits on the skin.
